I shot this sweet family’s R&R back in September. What a joy it was to be able to come shoot their homecoming!

Erika’s husband returned home on a very windy, overcast Friday afternoon. When I arrived you could feel the excitement of the crowd as they waited for word that the soldiers were on their way.

Mom had picked out some VERY cute outfit for her kiddos! I love seeing all the red, white and blue at homecomings!

Finally she got the text that they were on the buses— on their way to us shortly! The crowd continued to get louder.

Finally those white buses pulled into the parking lot! I love all of Erika’s faces!

Tears fell amongst the crowd as the buses were moved and the soldiers marched forward.

After what seemed like eternity, the families were finally released to reunite.
