I have been shooting this family since Daddy deployed a long time ago! What an incredible joy it was to be able to be there as they reunited with their soldier. Poor Jennifer ended up having emergency surgery just a few days before her hubby made it home— but that did not stop her from being there, early in the morning, to welcome her husband home.

It was a CHILLY morning! Like, we were all in coats chilly. In MAY! I am so thankful that it was inside!

It was very early, but besides a few yawns here and there, we were all in good spirits!

Just as the sun started coming up, the buses pulled into the parking lot.

The wait was finally over!

I caught her face just as she saw her husband for the first time in months. She could not take her eyes off him.

The small welcome ceremony lasted for what I’m sure felt like eternity.

Finally the soldiers were released to reunite with their families.
