I have had a few chances over the past few months to shoot smaller and more intimate wedding ceremonies. Because that is what my husband and I did originally (we were married in a small ceremony because he was deploying, then had the big one a year later), I have a soft spot in my heart for sweet ceremonies like these.
Kathy called me about five weeks before her wedding, telling me her and Steven had just gotten engaged and just could not wait to get married, and they were planning a December 30th wedding. I was so excited that I was available on their day.
Steven and Kathy met while running in the Tallahassee Turkey Trot last year, and it sounds like it was love at first sight! They were too nervous to exchange numbers at the actual race- but a friend ended up arranging a date for Kathy about a month later, and Steven was the date! When things are meant to be, crazy things happen for them to fall into place.
I loved their sweet little wedding on Carrabelle Beach- it was the one day during out little cold snap here that the sun actually came out, the clouds cleared, and it was a bearable temperature. It was a gorgeous day! Kathy had details (in all my favorite colors) picked out, along with sea glass and sea shell accents- so perfect for a beach wedding. They had their four precious dogs come out for a few of their photos too. I haven’t mentioned the most exciting part! THEY HAD A TACO TRUCK! Rankin Tacos from Tallahasse came out to the beach and served some pretty amazing tacos to the wedding guests. I’ll definitely be searching them out in Tallahassee.
We finished out the day right at sunset with beautiful golden light portraits and a few sparklers! The temperature dropped pretty quickly as the sun went down, but they both powered through until I was done. I love that my last frames of them are the two running off together into the sunset.
Kathy and Steven, what a fabulous day, thank you so much for letting me tell your story.
