It is making me SO happy to be shooting so many homecomings lately! Some homecomings are really big, with lots of guys coming in. This one was relatively smaller! I was happy to have one inside, because it’s still been pretty chilly outside lately. I met Marissa & her sweet son, Jackson out at West Fort Hood Gym. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, because they were still waiting for news that their soldiers’ plane had landed.
After what seemed like forever, we were able to sit and watch the plane land, and see the guys walk off the plane. Even the kiddos in the crowd recognized their soldiers on the screen when they walked past. Only a little longer to go until they were able to reunite with their families.
The crowd gathered on the bleachers, the anticipation rising. Everyone’s focus was on the door to the gym, looking for any sign of their soldiers’ walking through. In these last moments, they go so slowly. Finally, they filed in. I can always tell when my families see their soldier. You can tell simply by the expression on their faces. Marissa’s husband was the first in line, so they both spotted him right away (which is rare)Both of their eyes were trained on him. Only a few short moments to go.After what seemed like an eternity, Jackson was able to take off and run into his father’s arms. What an incredible reunion.Welcome home! It makes me so happy to see your sweet family back together again!
