Another soldier welcomed home.
I thought this homecoming was cold…Friday night’s was even colder! 27 degrees and snow still on the ground. But trust me, I have these freezing homecomings down!
I got to Cooper Field around 11:15 on Friday night- the crowd was already shivering (literally) with excitement. There was still some leftover snow on the ground from the night before.
Everyone was bundled up, anxiously awaiting the news that the guys were on their way! The temperature was slowly dropping. It was SO cold!
We finally saw the police lights down the road that signal the buses. The crowd roared with both excitement and relief to soon be out of the cold.
The kids could not keep their eyes off the group of guys walking towards them.
Their daddy was in there!
Finally the crowd was dismissed and we were able to run forward toward the group. It’s always this exciting, crazy mad dash to find your soldier. Your heart is beating so fast (I mean, mine is, so my client’s must be) in anticipation of that coming moment where their arms are wrapped around you.
There he is.
Two happy, very cold, tired, shivering children back in daddys arm, clutching like they’ll never let go again.
Two happy kiddos and one happy momma. Go home and get warm!
